Golden Week 2026 – Our Store Schedule and What It Means for Your Orders

Image of fresh greenery

Golden Week is one of Japan’s most cherished holiday seasons—a cluster of national holidays that runs from late April into early May. families hit the road, popular destinations buzz with energy, and people across the country make the most of the warm spring days with trips, outings, and festivals. At Kogei Art KYOTO, our team is no exception.

What Is Golden Week?

Golden Week falls every year around the same period and includes several national holidays in quick succession: Showa Day (April 29), Constitution Memorial Day (May 3), Greenery Day (May 4), and Children’s Day (May 5). When these overlap with weekends, they form one of the longest consecutive holiday stretches in the Japanese calendar—a truly unique feature of life in Japan.

Will Our Online Store Be Affected?

Our online store remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you are always welcome to browse and place orders at any time.

However, our backend operations—including order processing, shipping, and customer support—will be on holiday during the following period (all times are Japan Standard Time):

May 2 (Saturday) – May 6 (Wednesday), 2026

Orders and inquiries submitted during this window will be handled as soon as our team returns. We will do our best to process everything promptly and ensure your items reach you with minimal delay.

We are grateful for your continued support and understanding. Golden Week is a precious time for our team, and we look forward to serving you with renewed energy when we return.

Thank you for shopping with Kogei Art KYOTO.
