We have just uploaded new works to the Kogei Art KYOTO website.
This time, we have added three new Matcha tea bowls by ceramic artist Makimasa Imai.
Makimasa Imai is the son of Masayuki Imai, a famous ceramic artist and recipient of the Order of Cultural Merit. He is himself a highly acclaimed ceramic artist in Japan and overseas.
While based in Kyoto, he is particularly interested in firing his works in a climbing kiln in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, which is 400 km away from Kyoto, where his father built it.
The power of natural wood flames brings out the characteristics of the clay to the maximum, giving his works a deep finish.
He works on his creations with the hope that his works will contribute to people’s rich lives.
The works on sale this time are Shino-yaki matcha tea bowls and gray glazed matcha tea bowl.
All of them are finished as tea bowls with rich scenery(keshiki) that enhance the clay’s taste.
Click on the image of each work below to go to the work details page.
These works are available for sale online and at our company-run gallery.

We will prepare an accompanying Paulownia wood box(Tomobako) with the artist’s signature and seal for these works.
This process is completed after an order is received, so please allow an additional two weeks before the work is shipped.
Please place your order with this in mind.
If you do not require a joint box, please let us know when you place your order.
In this case, we will begin shipping immediately.
Please note that this work does not come with an NFT certificate.
This sale is a rare opportunity because Mr. Imai does not make many matcha tea bowls.
In addition, this time, we will add a 40g can of “Matagen” matcha tea from Marukyu-Koyamaen, a manufacturer and seller of matcha tea that is currently very popular worldwide, to the online sales only.
Marukyu-Koyamaen’s matcha tea is currently in very short supply, and even their stores are having difficulty keeping stock, but we will be offering it to you this time as a special treat.
Please don’t miss this rare opportunity.
